For many business owners, the creation of a Chapter S Corporation is a smart decision.

Small business corporations have no tax effect on their owners except for the filing of different IRS forms.  However, the use of the corporate form for your business may shield you from personal liability in a future lawsuit.

The Washington Secretary of State charges a $175 filing fee and a $20 expedite fee for the initial corporation formation.  Attorney fees for incorporation are $300 (this includes the first year registered agent fee).  An additional $70 is charged for corporate books and stock shares.   The total fees required to form your small business corporation are $565.
